\u201cUnblocking is pointless\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Ilya found us through the UnblockPro.Asia website in February 2026. He had opened his Bangkok Bank account a couple of years earlier and used it, among other things, for P2P crypto exchange. About a year before he contacted us, the account was frozen. He had been out of Thailand for a while, and people told him that trying to unblock it was pointless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Back in Thailand on a Thailand Privilege visa, he found that the old hold followed him everywhere. Other banks would not open an account for him while it was in place. Bangkok Bank only told him to contact the investigator. The bank printout showed that the order came from the police in Mueang Udon Thani, in the north-east of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First, we tried to solve it remotely<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Ilya asked us to contact the officer and find out whether the case could be closed without a trip. We tried several times, but we could not reach the officer on the number the bank had. We told him honestly that the only realistic way was to go to Udon Thani in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before the trip we agreed on the price and the terms. Flights, taxis and the hotel were paid by the client. About a week later Mike flew to Udon Thani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Day 1: the officer is not there<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
At the police station, Mike asked for the officer in charge. He was not at work that day, and the staff explained why nobody could reach him: he had changed his phone number long ago. The bank still had the old one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mike got the new number at the station, called the officer and arranged a meeting for the next morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Day 2: evidence and the release letter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
At the meeting, the officer opened the case file. The hold was linked to a single disputed P2P transfer from December 2024. He asked for screenshots and proof of that P2P deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mike passed the request to Ilya, who found the screenshots and sent them on Telegram within the day. Mike translated them into Thai, and they were attached to the police report. After reviewing the evidence, the officer issued a release letter to the bank. It took almost the whole day, but Mike left the station with the document in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day Mike flew back to Bangkok and went straight to Bangkok Bank with the release letter. The bank accepted it, and the main account, the one Ilya had used for P2P trading, was unblocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SCB: one more frozen account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Ilya also had an account at SCB, which had been restricted in connection with the same police hold. Together we went to an SCB branch and gave the bank a copy of the release letter and an explanation letter: why Ilya had exchanged cryptocurrency and what the money was used for (in his words, personal transfers for his own needs). After reviewing the documents, SCB lifted the restriction about three working days later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A new SCB account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Right there, Ilya asked us to help him open one more SCB account. We collected the documents and certificates the bank needed, and Mike translated them. With a 5-year Thailand Privilege visa, the bank mainly needed the documents and a letter in Thai explaining why he needed an additional account: a separate account for personal expenses. Mike helped Ilya write that letter. On the next visit to the branch, the bank opened the new account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nHow we worked with the client<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If your account was frozen by police in another province<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
- Ask your bank for the hold printout. It usually shows which police station issued the order.<\/li>
- Do not assume the case is closed because time has passed. A police hold usually stays until the officer sends a release letter, so check the status with your bank and the officer in charge.<\/li>
- Keep your P2P records: screenshots of the deal, the counterparty\u2019s details and the transfer receipts.<\/li>
- An old hold can also cause problems at other banks. Lifting it first makes opening a new account easier.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
