Thailand Setup for Chinese Companies: Company, BOI and Staff Visas

Your company is opening a Thai subsidiary or a supplier base, often in the Eastern Economic Corridor around Chonburi, Rayong and Chachoengsao. You need a Thai company, a business bank account and visas and work permits for the staff you send from China, and, if it fits your activity, BOI promotion. All of it in the right order and on time.

Our team plans and coordinates the whole setup, with licensed Thai lawyers, BOI consultants and accountants where the law requires them. The hardest step for a Chinese-owned company is usually not the registration but the bank account: banks check who owns the company, where the capital comes from and whether the signatory holds a Non-B visa. That is the part we work on every day.

Who Is This For?

Suppliers following a customer

Your customer has moved production to Thailand, and you need a local company to supply parts, components or services. Groups of suppliers from one anchor are welcome.

Factories in the EEC

You plan a BOI-promoted plant or warehouse in Chonburi, Rayong or Chachoengsao and need the company, the account and the staff permits lined up.

Trading and service subsidiaries

A Thai entity for import, distribution or services. We check whether BOI, a Foreign Business License or a Thai partner is needed.

Companies already registered

The company exists, but the bank account, visas, work permits or compliance still need to be sorted out.

Not sure what you need? That is the first thing we check, before you pay for anything.

What We Coordinate Beyond Registration

Registering the company is the easy part. The work that decides whether your Thai operation runs smoothly comes before and after it.

A bank account that actually opens

We prepare the KYC file the way Thai banks review it: ownership, source of capital, contracts with your customer. Then we go to the branch with your director.

Staff permits that pass

We check salaries against the BOI minimums and the capital and Thai-staff rules before filing, so your engineers and managers are not refused.

One coordinator, one plan

Company, BOI, bank account, visas and work permits are run in parallel where the rules allow, so dates and documents match. Our founder has worked in Thailand for 14 years.

No nominees, no paper positions

We tell you what is realistic before you pay. Structures that hide foreign control put your company and your staff at risk, and the DBD now checks for them.

Rules That Changed in 2025–2026

Four changes that affect almost every Chinese company setting up in Thailand now. We build the plan around them.

BOI minimum salaries

From October 2025 for new projects and January 2026 for existing ones: executives 150,000 THB, managers and engineers 75,000 THB (50,000 with a related degree), technicians 50,000 THB a month. Staff below these levels do not get BOI work permits.

Quarterly BOI reports

From 30 March 2026, promoted companies file progress reports through e-Monitoring every quarter and an annual report by 31 July. Missed reports can lead to revocation.

DBD checks on Thai shareholders

From 1 August 2026: bank statements of Thai shareholders and an investment explanation letter for companies with foreign directors or shareholders. Priority provinces include Bangkok, Chonburi and Rayong.

e-Work Permit

Mandatory nationwide from October 2025. The capital and Thai-staff requirements for non-BOI companies did not change.

Requirements are set by the BOI, the DBD and immigration and can change without notice. We check the current rules for your case before filing.

01

Project assessment

Case Review & Strategy is included: your activity, whether BOI fits, ownership, capital, the number of staff and their salaries, and the timeline. You get a written plan.

02

Documents

A document checklist in Chinese. We check which documents from the parent company need notarisation and legalisation in China, and prepare translations into Thai and English.

Company registration and the BOI application run in parallel where possible. Then the bank account, then visas and work permits. You get a written timeline and quote.

04

Execution

Registration and the BOI application through licensed partners, the business bank account and KYC, Non-B visas and work permits for your staff.

05

Follow-up

For 30 days after the account is opened we handle bank questions, KYC and the source of funds, and set up your compliance calendar: 90-day reports, visa and work permit renewals, BOI reporting.

Who Does What

Our team

The plan and the order of the steps, documents and translations, the bank account and KYC, salary and eligibility checks for your staff, visa coordination, follow-up with the bank and all communication by WeChat in Chinese and English.

Licensed partners

Thai lawyers for registration filings and legal documents, BOI consultants where needed, licensed accountants for accounting, tax and audit, and notaries. We coordinate them, their fees for the agreed scope are in the module price, and you know who does each part.

UnblockPro.Asia is a coordination and support company, not a law firm. The DBD, the BOI, the banks and immigration make the decisions. We prepare, file, follow up and tell you honestly what is realistic.

What We Need to Start

  • Your business activity and, if you have one, the Thai customer you supply
  • Where you plan to operate: Bangkok or a province in the EEC
  • The parent company in China and any other shareholders, the planned capital and its source
  • How many staff you bring from China, their positions and planned salaries
  • Your timeline
Important: the capital must be real and traceable. Banks and the DBD check where the money comes from, so we plan the transfers from China before registration, not after.

FAQ

Do we need BOI promotion?

Not always. For manufacturing, a company can be 100% foreign-owned without BOI or a Foreign Business License, with paid-up capital of at least 2 million THB. BOI adds tax incentives, easier work permits and a Foreign Business Certificate for restricted activities such as trading, but it comes with conditions, including minimum salaries for foreign staff and quarterly reporting. We check your activity against the current BOI categories with our licensed partners before you decide.

Can the Thai company be 100% Chinese-owned?

For manufacturing, usually yes. For wholesale, retail and many services, a foreign-majority company needs BOI promotion, a Foreign Business License or a real Thai partner whose funds are documented. We do not arrange nominee shareholders: since August 2026 the DBD checks the bank statements of Thai shareholders, and nominee structures carry criminal liability.

How many staff from China can get work permits?

Without BOI, the usual rule is 2 million THB of paid-up capital and four Thai employees for each foreigner; confirm the exact requirement for your case with us. BOI-promoted companies are exempt from this ratio but must pay foreign staff at least the BOI minimum salary for their position. We calculate it for your plan before you commit.

How long does the setup take?

Company registration usually takes about 7 working days once the documents from China are legalised and signed. BOI reviews a project of up to 200 million THB within 40 working days, and the application can be filed before the company is registered, so both run in parallel. With the bank account and the first work permits, plan for 3 to 4 months. You get a timeline with your written quote.

Can you work with us in Rayong, Chonburi or Chachoengsao?

Yes. Most of the work is done from Bangkok, where the BOI, immigration and the Department of Employment are, and online by WeChat. Site visits in the Eastern Economic Corridor are charged at our day rate, with transport paid by the client.

Do you work in Chinese?

Yes. We work by WeChat in Chinese and English, and every key document comes with a Chinese explanation. Official translations are made by professional translators, and the filings in Thai are handled by our licensed partners.

What happens after registration?

For 30 days after your bank account is opened we help with questions from the bank, KYC and the source of funds, and set up your compliance calendar. After that you can choose annual renewal for your staff, monthly accounting or monthly business support.

Are you a law firm?

No. UnblockPro.Asia is a registered Thai coordination and support company. Licensed Thai lawyers, BOI consultants and accountants handle the parts that require a license. Their fees for the agreed scope are included in the module prices, and anything outside the scope is quoted in writing before you pay.

Why does the Staff module cost more than some agents charge?

You will find cheaper offers. Before you choose, ask what happens if the case gets stuck halfway: some agents take payment for each stage and cannot finish the process. Our price is all-in and fixed in writing for the full process, from documents to the issued visa and work permit, and the work is done through a licensed Thai partner we use for our own company. Immigration and the Department of Employment make the final decision, so no one can honestly guarantee approval.

Requirements are set by the DBD, the BOI, immigration and other Thai authorities and can change without notice. This page is general information, not legal advice.
