TrueMoney Wallet Blocked in Thailand: Why It Happens and How to Unblock It

You open TrueMoney and see that your wallet is suspended. You cannot pay, top up or transfer, and the app only says to contact support. For many foreigners, TrueMoney is how they pay for daily life, so this hurts fast.

Below is why TrueMoney blocks wallets, how to tell its own check from a police hold, and what to do to get the wallet unblocked.

• TrueMoney follows the same rules as banks. It is a licensed e-money service under the Bank of Thailand and checks users for fraud and money laundering.
• Two kinds of block: TrueMoney’s own check (identity, unusual activity) or a police hold linked to someone’s complaint.
• First step: call TrueMoney at 1240 or write to support in the app and ask for the exact reason.
• Police hold: TrueMoney cannot lift it alone. You need a release letter from the police station that opened the case.

Why TrueMoney blocks wallets

• Identity not fully verified. The name or passport details do not match, or the verification was never finished.
• Money from strangers. Many incoming transfers from different people, often from P2P trades or selling things online.
• A police complaint. Money that reached your wallet is linked to someone’s fraud report.
• Unusual use. Sudden large amounts, many transfers in a short time, a new phone or SIM card, or logins from several devices.
• Someone else uses your wallet. Lending your account to a friend is one of the fastest ways to get it blocked.

TrueMoney’s own check or a police hold?

Ask support for the reason and write down the reference number. If it is TrueMoney’s own check, they usually ask you to verify your identity again or explain the transactions. If support says the account is restricted by an authority or by the police, the block is linked to a case, and only the police can lift it.

How to unblock a TrueMoney wallet

1. Contact TrueMoney. Call 1240 or use support in the app. Ask for the exact reason and what they need from you.
2. Verify your identity again. Passport, a valid visa and a Thai phone number in your name. The details must match exactly.
3. Explain the transactions. Screenshots of P2P orders or sales, chats with buyers and a short explanation of where the money came from.
4. For a police hold, go to the police. Find out which station opened the case, give a statement and get a release letter for TrueMoney.
5. Follow up. Keep the reference number and check back with support every few days until the wallet works again.

Be careful with messages saying your wallet will be suspended and asking you to click a link. Scammers copy TrueMoney’s style. Use only the official app and the 1240 hotline.
